This is a health education tool, not medical advice.
UlCure provides evidence-based educational content about peptic ulcer disease and H. pylori infection. The information is derived from published medical guidelines and is intended to help you understand your condition and the standard of care typically used to treat it. It is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified medical professional.
What UlCure Is
- A health education platform that explains peptic ulcer disease, H. pylori infection, and evidence-based treatment approaches
- A personalised guidance tool that tailors general treatment information to your reported symptoms and circumstances
- A medication adherence tool to help you complete a full treatment course if you and your doctor have decided on a treatment plan
- An informational resource equivalent to a medical guidebook or health education pamphlet — interactive and personalised, but not a medical service
What UlCure Is NOT
- Not a telemedicine service. UlCure does not connect you with a doctor or nurse. There is no real-time medical professional involved in generating your plan.
- Not a diagnostic tool. UlCure cannot diagnose H. pylori infection, peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or any other medical condition. Only laboratory tests (such as a urea breath test or endoscopy) can confirm a diagnosis.
- Not a pharmacy. UlCure does not dispense medication. All medications mentioned are for informational purposes only. Consult a pharmacist or doctor before starting any medication.
- Not a prescriber. UlCure does not issue prescriptions. Information about medications is educational, not a prescription directive.
- Not a replacement for emergency care. If you have severe symptoms, call emergency services or visit a hospital immediately.
When You Must Consult a Doctor
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:
- Vomiting blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
- Black, tarry, or bloody stools
- Severe, sudden abdominal pain
- Unexplained weight loss
- Difficulty swallowing
- Symptoms that are severe, rapidly worsening, or do not improve after completing a full treatment course
These symptoms may indicate a serious complication such as internal bleeding, perforation, or gastric cancer. They require immediate clinical evaluation — do not rely on this platform in these situations.
Accuracy of Information
The treatment information provided by UlCure is based on current published guidelines including those from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American College of Gastroenterology, adapted for the Kenyan context. However:
- Medical guidelines are updated periodically; our content may lag
- Individual responses to medication vary and cannot be fully predicted by a questionnaire
- Drug availability and approved formulations in Kenya may change
- We cannot account for individual allergies, drug interactions, or contraindications not captured by the questionnaire
