How we work

How we write what you read.

Health writing on the internet is mostly anonymous, undated, and written to sell something. Here is exactly how ours is made, who is responsible for it, and what we will not do.

Who writes it

Every word UlCure publishes — plans, articles, the app itself — is edited by Aidah Munzatsi, a health and science journalist, who is named as the author on our articles and is the person accountable for them. Drafting is assisted by AI; nothing reaches you without a human editor reading it first.

We employ no doctors, nurses, pharmacists or nutritionists.

Nobody at UlCure holds a clinical licence. We say this on the record because you deserve to know it before you pay us, not after. What we do is read the published guidance and put it into plain language you can act on.

How we weigh evidence

We follow three rules.

  1. Named or gone. If we cannot name the source, we do not publish the claim. Every source we use is on our sources page, with its year.

  2. Five years or a reason. We prefer guidance published within the last five years. Where we use something older, we say why on the sources page.

  3. No headline percentages. We do not publish a single big number for how common this is, or for how often treatment works. The studies do not agree on one, and anybody who quotes you a precise figure is rounding somebody else's estimate. Where the evidence is uncertain, we tell you it is uncertain.

What we will not do

  • We will not tell you a treatment will work. Nobody can.
  • We will not tell you that you have H. pylori, or an ulcer, or anything else. Only a test does that.
  • We will not tell you to skip seeing a doctor. Our whole product is built to make that visit better, not to replace it.
  • We will not take money from a pharmacy, a laboratory, or a drug company to say anything.
  • We will not use fear to sell you something.

About our wellness guides

The people on our wellness calls are trained by UlCure in how to talk through food, routine, work pressure and sleep during recovery. They are not nutritionists and not doctors. They will not diagnose you, will not tell you to change anything a clinician has told you, and will not recommend medicines. If a call raises something clinical, they will tell you to take it to a clinician — that is the correct answer and they are trained to give it.

When we get it wrong

We will publish our corrections here, with the date, what was wrong, and what we changed. An empty list below means we have not had to make one yet — not that we never will.

No corrections logged yet.

Found something wrong? Tell us at contact@ulcure.clinic and it will appear here.

We are not a clinic — on purpose

We do not diagnose you and we do not sell you medicine. We explain what the published guidelines say, so you can walk into the chemist or the clinic knowing exactly what to ask.

That is a deliberate choice, not a shortcut. Diagnosing needs a test. Prescribing needs a licence. We have neither, we will never pretend we do, and a KES 499 app that claimed either would be lying to you. What we can do is make sure that when you finally sit in front of someone qualified, you are not starting from "my stomach hurts".
